For the first time, KuZeB – the cultural center in Bremgarten AG, Switzerland – will be hosting the anarchist book fair from August 7th to 9th. In an era in which authoritarianism, wars and an unprecedented technological totalitarianism escalates, we want to create a self-organized space for fighting against these tendencies, while evolving our anarchist ideas and practice them in the here and now. Let’s put the time we will spend together to good use and refine our analysis of the current circumstances, deepen our understanding of our anti-authoritarian criticism and let us connect and build new bonds, leading to new ideas on how to attacking the authority.
Ongoing events, discussions and book tables at the fair will be made public continually on www.buechermesse.ch. In the so called “Fabrikkaffi” (factory café) at KuZeB will be space for informal discussions and on Friday and Saturday evenings there will be music.
As a self-organized bookfair, it will depend on what we all make of these days together. Our ideals like mutual aid are meant to be lived practically. We want to take care of each other without the interference of extern mediation. We are actively fighting against every form of discrimination. And it’s our shared responsibility to deny enemies of a world free from domination – like cops, nationalists and (bourgeois) journalists – the entrance to the bookfair.
KuZeB is sadly not barrier-free. But we will try to find a way for everybody to attend the bookfair. If required, please get in touch with us as soon as possible via info@buechermesse.ch. Most of the events will be in german, some in english and little in french. We are still looking for people who could help with translation. Sleeping-places we can only offer for people having a book table or organizing an event, so we kindly ask to look for sleeping-places yourselves.
